Hope he doesn't miss us too much.

Shady's gone to camp!
Well he's gone. The house is quiet, Buster is sleeping and there is no nagging presence right at my side. Shady has gone to Misty Pines Dog Camp in Wexford, PA for a vacation. When I took him there the lady working the counter took his leash and led him into the back and he didn't even look back at me. I guess he knew he was going to have a great time. We got him a half day of play time with other dogs his age and size and also got him cuddle time for everyday since he's such a love mooch. I hope he has fun playing with other dogs and lounging in his personal room. They even play them music and they each have their own drinking fountain. You can check out just how spoiled he will be at the Misty Pines website.

First Post
Well we've had Shady, formerly known as Reggie to the RRUS people, for about two months. He's fallen into a good routine, though he hates when it's disrupted. He's gained almost 30 pounds since we got him in late december and I don't think he's anywhere close to being done. He's already taller than Buster, though in his old age he seems to be shrinking. Shady has made some friends, Bear a flat coated retriever that lives just down the street, carmel a 8 week old Lab/Pitbull mix who was just brought home from the shelter and Winston a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who lives just across the way. (I have photos of Shady and Carmel playing that I will be posting, he's surprisingly gentle)
Anyway, Shady has been enjoying walks on the trails through Schenley Park, as well as visiting Frick Park where all the dogs go. He doesn't really get in the middle of wrestling but sort of glides around the outside of the pack observing. He really likes one-on-one playing and usually tries to pick out a dog his size and entice it to romp. He was on a Vizsla for a good half hour at the park yesterday before it would run and play with him.
All is going well so far though he has a strong affinity for soft things, like the sock i just caught him chewing on. When I told him to drop it he let it go and then looked at me like 'what? I didn't do anything.' Oh well, at least it's not my sock.
